Is Your Relationship Being Ruined By Snoring?

Snoring is extremely common, but for some people it can make their lives a misery. For the snorer it can mean light and interrupted sleep leading to daytime tiredness. Consequently this leads to irritability and poor performance at work. For the partners of snorers it naturally means that their sleep patterns will constantly be interrupted. The non-snoring partner naturally can become frustrated with the snorer and while lying awake desperately trying to get some sleep will start to blame their partner or feel that they must be doing it on purpose. Naturally, this leads to many couples in this situation resorting to sleeping separately.

Snoring is caused by vibrations of the soft tissues at the back of the throat as air passes through the airway. This tends to occur as the muscles relax when asleep meaning that the space through the airway is reduced. Factors such as sleeping position, being overweight, use of alcohol and allergies can exacerbate the situation.

There are a number of effective solutions available. many of these tend to focus on changing the way in which people breathe - these include devices to hold open the nostrils or to hold the mouth closed. However, another highly effective solution is hypnosis. This can be administered by a trained hypnotherapist or self administered. A much more cost effective solution is to purchase a CD or a MP3 download, both which can be highly effective.
